Chloe Moretz Kissing, Jim Carey in costume, and more Kick Ass 2 Updates

It's confirmed, Jim Carey will be on Kick Ass 2. This is a welcome update to the much awaited sequel of the 2010 movie starring Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, and Nicholas Cage. He would joining the not-so-super-but-still-awesome heroes of this sequel as Colonel Stars. Colonel Stars will be joining Kick-Ass (Johnson), The Mother Fucker (Christopher Mintz-Plasse) and Hit-Girl (Moretz) from the first film. Jeff Wadlow took over Matthew Vaughn's directorial seat.

Here is an official updated plot for our reading pleasure. (Spoilers may be ahead.)

Kick-Ass, Hit Girl and Red Mist return for the follow-up to 2010’s irreverent global hit: Kick-Ass 2.  After Kick-Ass’ (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) insane bravery inspires a new wave of self-made masked crusaders, led by the badass Colonel Stars and Stripes (Jim Carrey), our hero joins them on patrol.  When these amateur superheroes are hunted down by Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse)—reborn as The Mother F%&*^r—only the blade-wielding Hit Girl (Chloë Grace Moretz) can prevent their annihilation.

When we last saw junior assassin Hit Girl and young vigilante Kick-Ass, they were trying to live as normal teenagers Mindy and Dave. With graduation looming and uncertain what to do, Dave decides to start the world’s first superhero team with Mindy. Unfortunately, when Mindy is busted for sneaking out as Hit Girl, she’s forced to retire—leaving her to navigate the terrifying world of high-school mean girls on her own. With no one left to turn to, Dave joins forces with Justice Forever, run by a born-again ex-mobster named Colonel Stars and Stripes.

Just as they start to make a real difference on the streets,  the world’s first super villain, The Mother F%&*^r, assembles his own evil league and puts a plan in motion to make Kick-Ass and Hit Girl pay for what they did to his dad. But there’s only one problem with his scheme: If you mess with one member of Justice Forever, you mess with them all.

Hit Girl Chloe Moretz at Kick Ass 2 Set

Yeah, we missed Chloe. Thankfully, Kick-Ass 2 is in the making. We're excited and not just because Jim Carey is reportedly joining the cast. We're hyped up from these Hit-Girl updates from the sequel. As Chloe Moretz grows up - she's 15 years old, so should the character.  We could expect a deeper and more mature movie coming from director Jeff Wadlow and still starring Chloe Moretz and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

Here's the Chloe Moretz Hit Girl photos. Credits belong to owners.

Is Hunger Games a Battle Royale Rip off?

Hunger Games, Battle Royale copy cat?

The similarity between the two is so undeniable that the question comes up naturally. But did Hunger Games copy from Battle Royale?

What came first? Obviously, that would have to be Battle Royale

Koushun Takami, Suzanne Collins

Battle Royale (jap: バトル・ロワイアル Batoru Rowaiaru) was written by Koushun Takami and published in Japan in April 1999. Takami actually completed the novel three years earlier, 1996.

Hunger Games, written by Suzane Collins, was published in the US in September 2008. When this was made known to Collins, she said, "I had never heard of that book or that author until my book was turned in. At that point, it was mentioned to me, and I asked my editor if I should read it. He said: 'No, I don't want that world in your head. Just continue with what you're doing.' "

Similarities

Battle Royale is the Program, a "research" by the government where every year fifty 3rd-year classes are selected. Each class is isolated, given different weapons, and forced to fight each other to death until one student remains.Bomb collars are used to track movements and prevent them from escaping and entering forbidden zones.

The Hunger Games is set in a place called Panem, in a future after North America is destructed by some unsaid reason. As a punishment for a rebellion from some years past, the Capitol of Panem invented the Hunger Games, a televised game where tributes from the 12 districts fight each other to death until one remains. Two tributes from each district is chosen by lottery every year, one boy and one girl of ages 12 to 18. The game is set in a high-tech, controlled environment.

Differences

In Battle Royale, the students just told that they are participating in the Program, given weapons and forced to kill each other.

In Hunger Games, the tributes are trained before the games and sponsors, influential people outside the games, could send supplies to selected tributes.

How Titanic Broke and Sank A Century Ago

A hundred years has gone and past since the great tragedy that inspired the movie who will be released yet again.

RMS Titanic, the great ocean liner dubbed as "Unsinkable", who swam across the North Atlantic and sank on 15 April 1912, gave James Cameron a story for his then highest-grossing 1997 film. In celebration of the 100 years since the ships sinking, the film will be released again in 4k resolution. The story, it seems, never gets old.

This footage is from National Geographic and James Cameron who will feature a new documentary "Titanic: A Century Later".
